Fall Jewelry Fashion

Even though it's 100 degrees outside where I live in sunny southern California today, the Fall Fashion Season is well on it's way. All of our bigger US cities have already completed their Fashion week celebrations. New York runways showed Spring and Summer lines for 2013 last week. But before we jump ahead to Spring, let's talk about Fall. What I love most about fall are the delicious scents. Spicy apple, cinnamon, pumpkin, hot chocolate and  warm buttery biscuits...okay I'm a foodie, but for fashion this translates into rich colors and warmer, softer fabrics with layering. Pantone's color report for fall includes Honey Gold, French Roast, and Tangerine Tango. Colors a foodie can get behind! I also love the steely Titanium and muted Rose Smoke. I'm working to blend in these colors to some of my new jewelry projects for fall. Popular material seen in jewelry designs this season are Milky Stones, Light Turquoise Patina, Cabochons, Metal, Shell, and Resin. Vintage Glamour pieces from the 1930s and 1940s are hot especially in hair piece designs and brooches. If you have any Bakelite pieces from the 40s add them to your day to day wear. Collar necklaces and Choker necklaces are tres chic and can add style to any blouse or dress. Earrings are back to long and straight, fringe style, and chandelier. The earring door knocker post style has made a resurgence as well. You can pull out anything Art Deco, Geometric, or Tribal for Fall and you'll be the hit of the party.
Have a great Fall Season!
